In this session, attendees will learn about screening and diagnostic tools for assessing substance use in pregnancy; vulnerabilities for the development of a substance use disorder (SUD), including mental health comorbidities and a history of trauma; medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) use in pregnancy and while breastfeeding; the potential impacts of substance use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding; and the increased risk of fatal overdose during pregnancy and in the postpartum period.
