This recorded training will address the topic of self-injurious behaviors. Self-injurious behaviors occur frequently within our population. As clinical and service providers it is important to have an understanding of what constitutes self –injurious behavior and how to properly assess this in the individuals we work with. This course will provide an overview of self-injurious behavior, discuss various presentations of self-injurious behaviors and address ways that this can be assessed and distinguished from suicidal acts. Participants will specifically explore the function of non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors in clients, intervention strategies, and considerations for treatment.
